Time, where does it go? I don’t know. What I do know is that not much of it is coming my way just now.
Last Sunday we set out for a woodland walk despite the looming rain clouds.
At the last minute the children asked if we could take the stove to make hot chocolate. We weren’t organised enough for that but did mange to make a flask to bring with us.
It was very wet and muddy, suiting everyone expect, perhaps, me who would always prefer not to have too much extra washing. I do try to just let them get on with it but I can’t help wincing when the slips and falls start.
When the rain came on particularly hard we sheltered under a big old beech tree and drank our hot chocolate. It was delicious and just what we needed. It didn’t take long before we were getting pretty wet through the tree so there wasn’t much option but to set off again.
We were very wet by the time we got back to the car but it was a fun walk and just what we needed.
We set off next day for Northumberland to spend a few nights away with John’s parents. It was mostly wet there too but we had a great time. More later – perhaps, and, yes, the giveaway is still planned. I’m just hoping that one day soon some of my time starts going a bit further.
